Early Life in the East Shroud:
Born and raised in the East Shroud of Gridania, Khiwi Mala grew up amidst the dense forests that her people have called home for generations. Her family were humble disciples of the land and hand, deeply connected to the Twelveswood and its elemental spirits. From a young age, Khiwi exhibited a strong sense of justice and a desire to protect her homeland from external threats in a more tangible way, called by adventure and battle.

Formation of Dusk Watch:
After some time she decided to execute her original plan of journeying through Eorzea. During this time Khiwi crossed paths with two adventurers: Masiko and Vincent Grimbell. The trio quickly formed an unbreakable bond, sharing a mutual passion for uncovering the secrets of ancient ruins and relics. They took on odd jobs, they grew fond of each others company and eventually acted like family themselves. This relationship eventually led to the formation of Dusk Watch, a mercenary group known for its daring missions.Khiwi, although technically the Free Company Leader on paper, values the input and co-approval of Masiko and Vincent for all major decisions, except for titles. She delights in crafting alliterative titles for her companions: Khiwi Mala the Capricious Cat, Masiko Grimbell the Gill Goby, and Vincent Grimbell the Warden Wolf. While their official front is that of mercenaries, their true aim is to explore and uncover forgotten histories and relics of the ancient past for preservation and academic pursuit but Khiwi will just laugh and tell you they only do it for the treasure, even if that is not entirely true.
Personality and Fun Facts:
Khiwi is often perceived as aloof or stand-offish by strangers, but those within her close circle know her to be loud, caring, and kind. She has a generally happy demeanor, though she isn't afraid to show her bitchy streak when the situation calls for it. Khiwi loves sweet things, especially fruits and pumpkins, and enjoys dehydrating fruits to sneak extras into the others' jerky bags. Known for her reckless battle-style when she is alongside her guild-mates, she adopts a more calculated and reserved strategy around those she doesn't fully trust. Khiwi doesn't drink alcohol at all, preferring to keep a clear mind.
Chocobo:
Gelato, Khiwi's chocobo, has been her steadfast partner since she was a chick. Gelato has a regal personality and is very particular about her bardings, favoring flowing and elegant fabrics and accessories.
